Zeta Ferguson NORFOLK (AP) A longtime college professor and published poet has died in a traffic accident. Larry Holland, 61, was killed when a car he was in collided with another vehicle Friday at the junction of U.S. Highway 183 and.Nebraska Route 40 near Miller and the Buffalo-Dawson county line, said his mother-in-law, Dorothy Petricek. Born in Kearney, Holland was an English instructor for 28 years at Northeast Community College in Norfolk until he retired in 1996. He was founding editor of the "Elkhorn Review." Holland was an avid outdoorsman and horseman.

He published poetry and essays in a range of small-press magazines, as well as in "NEBRASKAland" and "Montana Outdoors" magazines. A memorial service was scheduled for Monday night at The Uptown Ballroom in Norfolk. Survivors include his wife, Becky of Norfolk; daughters, Jo McElwain of Ceresco and Shelly Gillis of Boston; and the mother of the children, Su Holland of Norfolk. Mr. Kudera was born on March 10, 1927, in Colfax County in the Clarkson area to Frank J. and Antonia (Dworak) Kudera. He attended Langley School in rural Colfax County. He married Delores Fichtl on Nov.

10, 1953, in Schuyler. He was a retired farmer. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-53 in Germany. He was a member of the church, life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Cornhusker Post 6419 in Clarkson, American Legion Post 47 in Schuyler, Schuyler Eagles and Masonic Lodges.

He had been active in the National Cattlemen's Association, of which he was a charter member, North American Limosine Association, Pla-Co Pork Producers and Colfax County Farmers Union. He served on the District 21 School Board, Midland Bohemian Slovanic Cemetery Board and was currently on the Keno Advisory Committee in Schuyler. In 1988, his farm received the Soil and Water Conservation Stewardship Award. Survivors are his wife; one son, Allen of Clarkson; one sister, Blanche Specht of Schuyler; and one brother, Henry of Schuyler. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Rose, Helen Studnic-ka and Agnes Sindelar; two brothers, Frank and Emil; and two infant brothers.

Gerald Morton BURIEN, Wash. Gerald Morton, 57, died Sunday, March 14, 1999, in Seattle. There will be no public services. The Bonney-Watson Parker Chapel in Burien, was in charge of funeral arrangements. Mr.

Morton was born June 7, 1942, in Murray. He worked as a contractor until retiring. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Victor and Ida (Paulson) Nelson. He received his elementary education at Platte County School District 61 and attended Newman Grove High School He entered the U.S. Navy on March 18, 1943. He achieved the rank of petty officer in the Naval Air Command. He served in World War II and Korean War.

His medals included Philippine Liberation Medal, World War II Victory Medal, National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Presidential Unit Citation and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal. He also earned nine battle stars. He served in the Navy for approximately seven years and then served in the Air National Guard of Colorado and the Air Force Reserves. On Jan. 15, 1948, he married Donna Larson in Newman Grove.

He owned and operated Nelson Auto Repair in Newman Grove. He retired in 1984. He was a member of the church and a volunteer fireman. Survivors are one son, John Robert (Carolyn) of Wichita Falls, Texas; one daughter, Deborah (Paul) Grubaugh of Columbus; two brothers, Don (Joyce) of Dublin, and Lowell (Lorraine) of St. Edward; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
